Our history

The first winemaking cooperative is created by 11 founding members.

A second cooperative is formed, with the goal of protecting small producers.

Pursuing similar goals to the groups already formed, a third wine cooperative is founded.

The Social Winery and the Farmers' League merge into one company.

In 1971, the Social Winery of Mezzocorona was among the first to launch a bottle of Teroldego Rotaliano, which was granted Denominazione di Origine Controllata in 1968.

The creation of the company's first sparkling wine factory, where Rotari Trentodoc sparkling wine is produced.

The company begins to expand into the U.S. market with the acquisition of Prestige Wine Imports Corporation.

This is the year we were created: the 630 members of the Cantina Sociale Cooperativa join the 137 members of the Producers’ Winery.

The major redevelopment project of the former Samatec industrial area begins: the site is transformed into Cittadella del Vino (Citadel of Wine).

Two major wine-making companies, Cantina di Salorno, in 1994, and Cantina sociale di Ala, in 1995, became sole members.

The first lot of Cittadella del Vino, dedicated to the production of Rotari Trentodoc sparkling wine, is completed. The charming facility is open for events and tours.

NOSIO S.p.A., the business and investment arm, is established, with the obligation of keeping the majority of the share capital in the hands of the Cooperative, to encourage community participation.

A winemaking cellar is built within the Cittadella del Vino to collect, process and refine the wine products.

We acquire two companies in Sicily: Solsicano S.a.r.l. in 2001 and Villa Albius S.a.r.l. in 2003.

The Cittadella del Vino expands with bottling, storage and shipping facilities. The PalaRotari auditorium is opened, where large events can be hosted.

This year sees an important step toward social and economic stability in the area: a merger with the Valdadige Fruit and Vegetable Consortium.

The apple storage and processing warehouse is updated, and partly built from scratch, innovating and improving production processes.

The work in the Cittadella del Vino area is completed with the commissioning of an efficient and innovative bottling facility with a capacity of more than 15 thousand bottles/hour.

"The Roots of Our Future" is the new museum route opened in 2016 in the Cittadella del Vino; it traces the stages of history of wine in the Piana Rotaliana and Mezzocorona.

Our winemaking members obtain Ministerial Certification SQNPI, i.e. National Quality System for Integrated Production, for grapes (2016) and wines (2017). The Valentina Consortium obtains the GRASP Certification, as well as the SMETA audit conducted by Nosio S.p.A.

The Arco Collection Center is being upgraded with a massive technological investment and a new biological purification plant with membrane filtration.
